What are Orthotics & Prescription Devices?
Custom Made Orthotics
Custom made orthotics are prescribed to help treat pain, dysfunction and imbalances related to the feet, ankle, legs, knees, hips and low back. Orthotics can be used in young children for foot and gait abnormalities. They are also commonly used in adults to help manage foot pain conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions or arch pain, and for back pain patients to help alleviate stress on the back related to lack of support from foot arches or lack of shoe support, and for diabetics with diabetic neuropathy related foot pain. Visit our chiropodist to find out how orthotics can benefit you.
Medical Gradient Compression Socks & Stockings
Medical gradient compression hosiery is a prescription medical grade stocking designed to deliver a controlled amount of gradient pressure to the legs. This allows venous blood to flow upwards and away from the lower extremity; improving swelling, stagnation and symptoms of heaviness and aching in the legs. Medical compression hosiery is used to help control leg symptoms including swelling, fatigue, varicosities, cold extremities related to improper blood flow and other leg conditions
Braces
Braces such as knee, ankle, wrist or elbow braces provide needed support to an injured area and allow some pressure or demand to be taken off the area in order to help with recovery. Braces are used in combination with therapy and should be fitted by a qualified professional. Book an appointment with our physiotherapist to asses your individual bracing needs.
